What’s so Special about Matchstick Monkey Teething Toys?
We all naturally want the best for our little ones. But making decisions on the best products to buy can be difficult when there’s so much choice. Products designed to do the same thing, all come with slightly different features which can be incredibly confusing for parents!
Before I had children, I had no idea about car seats, prams, nappy’s and all of the other things you don’t come into contact with until afterwards. One of the most recognisable things about Matchstick Monkey is the strategically placed bumps on the back of our cute characters heads. These bumps are there for two important reasons.
Crucially, the bumps help you administer teething medication accurately and painlessly for you and your baby. Teething medication can be tricky. It’s slippy, and you can’t be sure if you’re putting it in the right place. Applying the teething medication directly to the bumps means it’ll stay put until your baby chews it - right on the source of their pain. Much more preferable to having your finger chomped on accidentally, right?
The bumps also provide a satisfying texture to chew on, especially when placed at the site of a soon-to-erupt new tooth!
Easy to clean and sterilise
All of the Matchstick Monkey teethers are easy to clean and sterilise. They’re perfectly suitable for steam or cold water sterilisation, and you can even pop them in the dishwasher! Since kids love to throw things on the floor wherever they are, easy cleaning is essential.
Also, as none of our teethers are hollow, they’re safe from bacteria or mould building inside of them. Happily, all our teethers are robust enough to be chewed, bathed and thrown as much as your baby desires!
Easy to hold
Matchstick Monkey is designed specifically for very little hands, helping them develop motor skills from an early age. The slim but strong arms and tail provide plenty of surface area to hold on to whilst your little one navigates it into their mouths to chew.
They come in three sizes, the Mini Monkey teether at 10cm, the Original Monkey teether at 10.5cm and the Dancing Monkey teether at 14cm. All are suitable for very young babies.

All Matchstick Monkey teething characters are made from solid FDA approved food-grade silicone. They’re totally safe for little ones to chew to their heart’s content. Food-grade silicone is a non-toxic polymer made mainly from silica (sand). It doesn’t react with other materials or elements and doesn’t produce gas or leach chemicals.
