What to get your child for Christmas: Present Ideas for 0-3 year olds
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year, but there can be some stressful moments, most notably in the build-up to the big day. One of the more challenging aspects is figuring out what presents to buy for your loved ones. Sometimes, this is difficult because the person you’re buying for can be too picky. For others, it’s because you want to get the perfect gift! This is usually the case with our children, especially during the first few years of their lives, when Christmas is that extra bit special.
With that in mind, we would like to lend a helping hand. In this blog, we’re going to look at a few gift ideas for kids who are 0-3 years old.
Engaging books
Want to get your child something that is both fun and educational? Then take a look at filling their stocking with books. There are many incredibly engaging books on the market, ones that’ll be a delight for your kids to read, and which will also help to develop their young minds. The type of book you get your child will depend on their age, if they’re a year or so, then a musical book will be good; if they’re a little older, then a pop-up book could be the way to go. For children who like an interactive book, you could get them a finger-trail adventure book such as the Matchstick Monkey Colours Book. It has proven to be a hit amongst little ones and parents whilst helping to develop fine motor skills.
Cognitive toys
One of the things that’s pretty handy about young children is that, well, they can be entertained by more or less anything! So when you’re looking for a gift for your kids, think about what will be both engaging and help them in their development. One of the best things to get a young child is a floor mirror; it helps to boost their curiosity and to help them learn more about themselves. Or if you would like to encourage them to use their hands, then think about getting stacking cups.
Toys for the bath
Bath time is a special opportunity to bond with your kids. Indeed, it’s one of those experiences that parents miss most when the time has passed. To make it extra fun and stimulating, why not look at investing in some bath toys for your child? They’ll engage your baby when they open them up on Christmas day, but they’ll come into their own during bathtime. They’ll be useful for your kids to develop hand-eye coordination and can also help deepen the connection between parent and child during bath time too.
Getting musical
If you’re looking for cool gifts for your children, then consider getting something musical. It’s always a good idea to get something that feeds your child’s senses, because they’re developing quickly during their early years! There are a couple of different options you can choose from. You can buy a toy that allows your child to develop musically (such as a children’s piano) or something that they passively enjoy, such as a cot mobile.
Comforting toys
Sometimes, all a child wants is to be comforted and in return you’re left with a content and happy little human. So why not make their wish your command this Christmas and get them a gift that they will treasure. Perhaps a cuddly toy such as the Matchstick Monkey Plush Monkey or Matchstick Monkey Knitted Hanging Monkey could be a hit; especially if they found comfort from our Matchstick Monkey Teethers during their younger years. That being said, maybe they haven’t experienced a Matchstick Monkey Teether yet and this could bring comfort and enjoyment for them all at once.
Ultimately, if you’re buying with love, then they’ll love it. It’s all about making their first few Christmas times as fun and magical as possible, after all!
