Typical Teething Timeline
Although most babies start teething at 6 months, each child is different and symptoms are varied, so recognizing individual cues and signs is key in helping to make this stage easier. We have put together a little teething timeline so you can feel prepared for this stage
Early stages
3-6 months – this is when teething typically starts to begin, and some common symptoms may start appearing, like drooling or swollen gums, (check out our teething signs blog). Teeth begin pushing against gums but don’t fully emerge. This is where our Matchstick Monkey Teethers can help to massage irritated gums, and provide relief during a painful stage.
First teeth!
Typically the bottom front teeth (lower central incisors) are the first teeth to appear. They can come in anytime from 3 months onwards but tend to start showing around the 6-10 month mark. Upper front teeth (upper central incisors) are soon to follow, coming in near the 8-12 months.
Molars and Canines start to appear!
9-13 months: Teeth on either side of the front teeth otherwise known as the top lateral incisors and bottom lateral incisors are next to come, with the first molars and canines not long after, showing from 12- 20 months.
Complete Set
It won’t be for a while till your little one has a full set, with most children having all of their milk teeth by 2-3 years old. Whether emerging or full sets of little teeth, good oral care and hygiene should start from first tooth. We have you sorted with toothbrushes for all stages.
Remember, this is just a timeline for guidance and teething takes a different route and time for everyone!
