Essentials for flying with a little one
It is that time of year when the summer holidays are fast approaching, which can be both exciting and daunting when travelling with your little one. But not to stress, we have put together a concise list for travel essentials to help you have a more worry-free and enjoyable experience when flying.
Preventing earache
- When flying, earaches are very common. To prevent this discomfort feeding your little one during take-off can help ease any pain they may feel in their ears.
A selection of toys
- We recommend bringing new toys that your little one hasn’t seen before, to add excitement and prolong their interest, keeping them entertained for as long as possible. For babies or younger toddlers, a sensory toy can provide stimulation and capture their interest. Try something like our sensory teething teddy; designed with crinkly feet, a teething hand and filled with beads.
Snacks snacks and more snacks
- An obvious but essential one! Always bring more than you anticipate, as a 2am wakeup may require a quick fix or snack when travelling!
Spare everything!
- As we all know, little ones are very unpredictable, so being prepared is second nature to a parent. A spare change of clothes, excess nappies and baby wipes will never let you down for travel days, and are lightweight and easy to fit in hand luggage.
Other tips
- Try and grab a window seat. This will potentially provide some free entertainment for your child, and lets them see what is going on.
- If you are given the option, or can request it, boarding early can be a lifesaver here and reduce stress. You can a get settled in, arrange bags and grab things out, and chose your seat all before everyone boards the plane.
You have the list of essentials, now you just have to get there- Good luck!
